To do this, we would need (1) contributors of every age and inclination, (2) someone who's adept with publication software, and (3) someone who would volunteer to coordinate sales and marketing.

Please let us know what you think . . . and whether you would contribute . . . by e-mailing us at art@bigelowhighlands.org, or phoning 753-2095, or by coming to the next meeting.

What Dues Do

Dawn Doyle Peller

Bigelow Highlands Neighborhood Association was chartered 21st October, 1993.   Neighbors joined together to discuss issues of community importance and to address the city with their concerns, opinions, and ideas.  Over the years the neighborhood association has advocated for residents and presented a unified voice on topics such as traffic, zoning, city projects and construction, and community safety.

More importantly, neighbors came together to greet each other- visiting with old friends & meeting new. This is the core of the association- the connection with your neighbors.

Neighborhood Association meetings are open to all residents of the Bigelow Highlands area. Home owners, renters, business owners- all are welcomed and encouraged to attend.

You do not have to be a member to attend meetings- all you have to do is show up!  All residents have an equal voice. If you choose to join the association, suggested annual dues are $10.00 per household.  Dues are entirely voluntary, but your contribution is put to good use.  The neighborhood association purchases paper and supplies that make this newsletter possible.  Annual corporation fees are paid to the state. Coffee, juice and treats are sometimes donated, but are often bought for meetings. Each September Bigelow Highlands Neighborhood Association hosts a barbecue and picnic in Bigelow Park.

The popular event is open to all residents of the neighborhood and is the perfect time to get to know each other. The picnic is funded though donations and membership dues.

Your dues enable the association to provide you with a link to the community; attending the meetings strengthens the connection.
